The Root Cellar Resort is located on Lake Gogebic and is surrounded by 960,000 acres of Ottawa National Forest. Situated at the western tip of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, (UP) is a hidden gem. It’s 14,782 surface acres provide bountiful fishing and boating activities. At about 20 miles long, Gogebic has an average depth of 17 feet with a few holes as deep as 37 feet. Hiking trails, ATV trails, fishing, hunting are all accessible from our resort. It's an ideal setting for outdoor enthusiasts.
